BLANCO, Texas — Led by freshman Malin Senneryd, the University of Central Arkansas women’s golf team tied for fourth at the 2012 Southland Conference Women’s Golf Championships on Wednesday at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
Senneryd, from Linkoping, Sweden, finished tied for sixth overall after shooting rounds of 70-74-82 for a 226 total. Junior Julia Roth from Karlskrona, Sweden, shot 79-77-76-232 and tied for 11th, while senior Gemma Hardie from Luncs, England, was 15th with rounds of 83-75-78-236. Sophomore Carly Dear from Red Oak, Texas, shot 80-74-84-238 to tie for 18th place, while senior Brooke Braun of Metarie, La., was 33nd at 83-81=87-251.
UTSA won the team title for the second consecutive year with an 896 total, followed by Texas State (901), Lamar (928), UCA and Sam Houston State (932), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (949), Stephen F. Austin (991) and McNeese State (1,001). UCA had rounds of 312-300-320.
