MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team ended the 2012 campaign with 9-5 victory at Rhodes College on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Warriors end their season with a 5-10 record and 4-5 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, tying the program record for most victories in a season set last year.
Hendrix had a balanced offensive attack with seven different players scoring. The Warriors outshot the Lynx (2-10, 2-7) 48-32.
Sophomore midfielder Cameron Millstone scored two goals and an assist and took a school record 19 shots, 16 of which were on goal. The St. Louis, Mo., native also came up with a game-high 11 groundballs and went 11-of-16 on faceoffs. Senior Don Geders also recorded two goals.
Freshmen Charles Hotchkiss and Matt Carpenter each had a goal and an assist and seniors Zach Doelger, Alex Wilkinson and James Hanson added a goal apiece. Freshman Sean Tjaden registered an assist and four groundballs. Freshman Will Tucker caused two turnovers and senior keeper Keith Clemens had 10 saves.
Hugh Madison led Rhodes with three goals and Elliot Diesel had six groundballs. Keeper Carson Lewis came up with 25 saves.
The game was the final in the careers for six seniors, Geders, Doelger, Wilkinson, Hanson, Clemens and defenseman John Schallhorn.
