In conditions ranging from clear to pouring rain, Louisiana Tech (3-0) handed the University of Central Arkansas women's soccer team its first loss of the season Sunday, 1-0, at Farris Field.

The only goal of the match came in the 16th minute, when Mo Rockwell pushed the ball forward to Laura LeFevour. As Central Arkansas keeper Kelsey Gochnauer was charging to make a play on the ball, LeFevour was able to slip the ball to Rosie Lethbridge, who slid the ball into the back of the net for her second goal of the season.

Two keepers again saw significant minutes for the Bears, with Gochnauer playing the first half for the Bears, and Lyndzey Goff making three saves in the second half. Caitlin Updyke played all 90 minutes in goal for Louisiana Tech, making nine saves on the day.

The loss ends Central Arkansas’ three game winning streak to open the season, their longest streak since winning three matches in a row. The Bears play Mississippi Valley State on Friday before playing at Alabama State on Sunday.
