While the game against Ole Miss is in immediate focus, University of Central Arkansas football coach Clint Conque is looking at a bigger picture as the Bears open the season Saturday at Oxford, Miss.

"We are preparing for a season, not just a game," Conque said Monday at the first Bearbackers luncheon of the season. "That involves strength training, conditioning and practice habits. We'd be doing the same things if our opponent was Trinity, the University of Arkansas, Alabama or LSU."

The Bears will meet a Southeastern Conference opponent for the first time in their football history at 6 p.m. Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.

"The key is putting ourselves in position to win in the fourth quarter," he said. "We've got a few question marks, but so do they."
