MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. —Conway senior Austen Moix led the University of Central Arkansas men's golf team to victory Tuesday at  the Golfweek Program Challenge at the True Blue Course.


UCA,shot a final-round 284 to finish 2-under for the tournament. The Bears beat Jacksonville State by two strokes after trailing by four going into the final round.


Moix opened with a 1-under 71, then shot consecutive 68s to finish second overall at 9-under 207. Freshman James Newton (75-73-70-218) and junior Richard Farmer (73-74-71-218) tied for 18th place, while sophomores Pep Angles (75-73-75-223) and David Morago (73-72-78_223) tied for 37th place.




Moix, who eagled No. 4 in both the second and third rounds, had three birdies on the back nine in Tuesday’s final round to secure the team title for UCA.
