DANVILLE, Ky. – The Hendrix College field hockey held off Centre College 1-0 on the road Sunday to start the Southern Athletic Association schedule 2-0.

The Warriors (4-1, 2-0) were outshot by the Colonels (1-4, 1-2) 27-8 overall and 16-1 in the second half. For the game, Centre had a 12-2 shots on goal advantage.
 
The game’s lone goal came in the 18th minute when senior defender Maggie DesPain scored with an assist from senior forward Kelly Rappe’.  


 
Sophomore keeper Betsy Kelly was one save off of her career-best with nine saves. Junior defender Elizabeth Lancaster had two defensive saves and junior Jennifer Koller also had one to help secure the Warriors’ fourth consecutive shutout.
