HAMMOND, La. ‚ — Southeastern Louisiana shut out the UCA women's soccer team, 2-0, Sunday, the Bears' fourth loss in their last five games.



The Lady Lions (9-6-1, 3-2-1 SLC) got on the board in the 38th minute when Megan Miller fielded a cross from Kailey Mills and tucked it into the Central Arkansas net for her first goal this season. Sam McNally added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute, collecting a pass from Miller and beating Bear keeper Lyndzey Goff for her second goal this season.

Kelsey Gochnauer played 63 minutes in goal for the Bears (9-6-1, 1-4-1) , allowing one goal. Goff played the other 27 minutes in net, also allowing one goal. Lacey Bockhaus was in goal for all 90 minutes for the Lady Lions, making three saves on the day.

The Bears lost leading scorer Adriana Lucar to a broken nose in the first half and Vanessa Randall to a knee injury, also in the first half.


The Bears return to action next Friday afternoon, hosting Nicholls State at 4 p.m. as part of the "Bears for a Cure" campaign for breast cancer awareness.
