LaGrange College and Austin College defeated Hendrix in two women's basketball games Saturday and Sunday at Buzz Bolding Arena at Conway High.

Despite being tied with just under five minutes to play, the Hendrix College women’s basketball team lost 83-76 ot LaGrange on Sunday.

The visiting  Panthers (5-4) ended the game by outscoring the Warriors (0-9) 16-9 over the final 4:53 to earn the victory.


Hendrix cut the lead to 75-71 at the 2:25 mark on a 3-pointer by freshman guard Estrella Flores, but that was as close as the Warriors would get in the final minutes.


For the game, Hendrix shot 38 percent from the field (26-of-69), 8-of-24 from 3-point range of 16-of-30 at the free-throw line.


Junior center Jamie Tate scored 16 points and pulled down a season-best 18 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double for Hendrix. Flores scored 15 points in 11 minutes, going 6-of-8 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point territory. Freshman guard Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler had nine points and season-bests nine assists, five steals and two blocks. Junior guard Tiffany Hubbard also had nine points and freshman forward Katy Gallien recorded eight points, eight rebounds and four assists. Sophomore guard Kati Broberg added eight points and three assists off the bench.

 Tate paced Hendrix with 12 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Kriesel-Bigler also had 12 points and three assists and Katy Gallien scored eight points and pulled down six rebounds.
