The University of Central Arkansas Bears followed a record-setting softball victory Friday with a 4-0 victory over Nicholls State to sweep the series at Farris Field.

For the second day in a row, UCA (31-17, 7-7 SLC) used a four-run first inning to take down Nicholls State (9-25, 4-6). Friday night, the Bears won, 4-1.

UCA scored on a single by Nicole Beals, an error, two walks, a passed ball and a three-run double by Melissa Bryant.

Kelsie Armstrong (19-10) got the win for the Bears, scattering four hits and striking out six to gather her 28th complete game and seventh shutout of the season.

Central Arkansas travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon for a nonconference game.
