BEAUMONT, Texas — The University of Central Arkansas Bears clinched their first Southland Conference tournament berth Thursday with a 106-99 double-overtime victory over Lamar.

UCA, which is in eighth place, eliminated Lamar, which is in last place in the Southland, from postseason contention.

LaQuintin Miles hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force the second overtime. The Bears took a quick five-point lead in the first minute of the second overtime period and pulled away.
