A 34-win baseball season has resulted in some all-conference honors for University of Central Arkansas players.
Seniors Forrestt Allday and Caleb McClanahan earned first-team All-Southland Conference honors on Monday, two of the seven University of Central Arkansas named to the three teams and honorable mention list by the league coaches and sports information directors.
Senior catcher Michael Marietta was named to the second team, while junior center fielder Jonathan Davis was a third-team selection. Senior second baseman Blake Marchal, senior pitcher Jeffery Enloe and junior pitcher Bryce Biggerstaff were honorable mention selections.
Allday, a two-time selection as a right fielder, is second in the league in hitting at .383 and leads the SLC in runs scored (51), on-base percentage (.514) and walks (42), and is fourth in slugging percentage (.503) and fifth in stolen bases (15). The senior from Friendswood, Texas, is also third in hits (74) and is a two-time SLC Hitter of the Week this season.
McClahanan, a senior righthander from Wynne, has been the staff ace this season with a 9-5 record and a 2.18 earned-run average, which ranks second in the conference. McClahanan leads the SLC with five complete games and is tied for first in victories (9), second in innings pitched (103.1) and fifth in opponent’s batting average (.213).
