LA CROSSE, Wis. – Hendrix College junior Elizabeth Krug will compete for her fourth All-American award in the women’s heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships at Roger Harring Stadium on Thursday and Friday.

Krug, from Heber Springs, enters the 22-woman field with third-best mark of the season, a school record 4,733 points set at the Ole Miss Invitational in April.

Krug is just behind Beth Stam of George Fox (4,815 points) and Kaari Jensen of Concordia (Minn.) (4,760).

The events Thursday with the 100 meter hurdles at 2 p.m. Friday’s competition will start at 3 p.m. with the long jump.

Krug, who placed sixth at the Championships last year and seventh in 2011, was named the 2013 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South/Southeast Region Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year last week. She was also the Southern Athletic Association Field Athlete of the Year and was the high scorer at the SAA Championships with 44.75 points, including wins in the 400 meter dash and the javelin.

Krug earned All-American status with a fifth place finish in the pentathlon in March’s Division III Indoor Championships.
