The Conway boys soccer team improved to 3-0 in conference Tuesday night with an 8-1 romp over Little Rock Hall at John McConnell Stadium.

Five different Wampus Cats scored, led by Logan Hampton with four goals. Henry Aguirre, Michael Ward, James Keith and Ryan Davis had one each.

The CHS girls had it even easier, winning 12-0.

Conway’s junior varsity boys won, 5-0.

The Conway boys are tied in conference with Fort Smith Northside and the two schools will play Thursday at John McConnell Stadium with the girls junior varsity game beginning at 4 p.m., followed by the girls varsity and the varsity boys.

MAYFLOWER BASEBALL

MAYFLOWER — Austin Grundy (4-0) recorded A shutout victory, going seven innings and striking out four as Mayflower ran its baseball record to 12-1 Tuesday with a 4-0 victory over South Side of Bee Branch.

The Eagles scored in the first after Michael Post was hit by a pitch and singles from Derek Vickers and Trey Bradley. They scored again in the fourth after Tyler Herrin was hit by a pitch and Justin Sewell singled and an RBI from Jordan Burns. Mayflower added a run in the fifth.

Mayflower coach Joe Allbritton said, "We didn’t do our best at the plate tonight, but our defense made some great plays and Grundy was solid on the mound." 

The Eagle offense was led by Trey Bradley, Derek Vickers and Justin Sewell. 

The Hornets won the JV game, 3-1. Drew Duncan took the loss and Tyler Godwin produced the Eagles’ only run.

ST. JOSEPH SOCCER

Valley View (1-2-1, 1-0) opened conference soccer play with a 4-1 victory Tuesday over the St. Joseph boys (0-1-1, 0-1).

The lone goal for the Bulldogs was scored in the 60th minute by senior Drew Hambuchen from a free kick sent into the penalty box by senior Alex Halter.

Bulldog goalkeeper Jared Thielke made 9 of 13 saves for the night.

The Lady Bulldogs also lost their home and conference opener against Valley View in the earlier match, 4-0.

St. Joseph has a home match with Crowley’s Ridge Academy on Monday.
