The Conway boys soccer team improved their conference record to 4-3 Friday night with a 2-1 win over the Russellville Cyclones.

After a scoreless first half, Russellville scored in the 47th minute on a goal by senior Jaime Duarte with a back heel shot against the goalie. Two minutes later junior Logan Hampton scored for Conway with an assist from sophomore Nestor Moguel.

In the 60th minute, the Cyclones fouled Logan Hampton in the goalie box and senior Garrett Todd stepped calmly to the mark for the penalty kick and drove the ball into the left side of the net for a 2-1 lead. Conway continued to attack the rest of the game as well as playing very stingy defense by not allowing Russellville any more chances at goal.

Conway will play Thursday against the 7A Central leaders Little Rock Catholic in Burns Park with the JV starting at 5:00 pm followed by the varsity at 6:30 pm.
