Droves of Wampus Cat fans lined the streets surrounding John McConnell Stadium on Friday afternoon to send the football team to its semifinals matchup in the 7A state playoffs against Bentonville.

Conway (9-2) is playing in its first semifinals since 2003 against top-ranked Bentonville (9-2), who is hoping for its fourth consecutive trip to the 7A state championship.

The No. 4-ranked Wampus Cats defeated Springdale Har-Ber, 52-42, last week to advance to tonight’s matchup against the Tigers.

Bentonville defeated Fort Smith Southside, 45-13, to earn its way to one of two state semifinals matchups. The winner between Conway and Bentonville will face the winner of Cabot and North Little Rock in the 7A state championship at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 at War Memorial Stadium.

Kickoff between the Tigers and Wampus Cats is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium in Bentonville.
