The Log Cabin has reported in previous editions that the Conway girls soccer team, which won a 7A title this season, had never won a state tournament match. They had never won a 7A tournament contest, which matches the top six teams from the Central and West Conferences in a 12-team state tournament.

The Lady Cats won their first-round games in both 2006 and 2007 when the highest classification of soccer was 5A. This was a 16-team tournament involving teams from what are currently 7A and 6A and there were four eight-team conferences in 5A: East, West, South and Central. The soccer tournament was later expanded from three classifications to four: 7A, 6A, 5A and 4A.

The Conway girls defeated Jonesboro in the first round of 5A tournament at El Dorado in 2006 and defeated El Dorado in the first round of the tournament in Conway in 2007.
