
   
CBC ranked 3rd in NCCAA softball poll

The Central Baptist College softball team, with a 17-7 record, is ranked third in the nation in the first poll in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
The Lady Mustangs, who are ranked first in the Central Region that includes Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, are ranked nationally behind Bethel College and Olivet Nazarene.
CBC in the top five in all team offensive categories and is first in fielding percentage.
Players who have achieved individual rankings are: Lakyn Spear, Greenbrier, fifth, batting (.500), third in hits (41) and fifth in on-base percentage (.549). Shannon Pickard also of Greenbrier is ranked in the top 10 in seven offensive categories including average (.479), slugging percentage (.781), on-base percentage (.537), hits(35), RBI (32), doubles (12) and triples (5).
Hailey King of Bryant is in the top five in hits(38) and runs (28), and in the top 10 in average (.481) and home runs (4).
Schylar Dake of Conway is tied for second for wins by a pitcher with a 9-1 mark.
"What an accomplishment for a group of all freshman and sophomores, I am very pleased with the start of our season and look forward to a strong finish toward the national tournament," said CBC coach Jason Andeson.
Central Baptist College will host Mid-America Christian University this weekend for a four-game series at Greenbrier High School on Friday and Saturday.
