UCA officer completes academy training

Rhonda R. Swindle, a police officer with University of Central Arkansas Department of Public Safety, recently completed basic police training at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in East Camden.
The 12-week, 480-hour course, began in January and included instruction in standard police tactics and firearms, legal, educational and technical skills and practical exercises.
Graduation ceremonies were on March 27 at the Southern Arkansas University Technical College Gymnasium in East Camden.
Officer Swindle, a daughter of Walter Stroud and Francis Wilbanks of Higginson (White County), is a 1991 graduate of Jonesboro High School and a 1997 graduate of UCA, where she majored in psychology and sociology.
She lives in Greenbrier with her husband, Brian, and daughter.
