Correcting a statement that appeared in an advertisement in the Log Cabin Democrat yesterday, M.S. McCord of the Malco Theatres said the Conway Theatre would present no shows on Sunday night if the vote for Sunday movies was approved in today's election. Mr. McCord said Conway was the only city among 15 in which the Malco operated where the theatre was dark all day Sunday. Conway pastors, Dr. E. P. J. Garrott, Rev. J. W. Workman, Rev. C. M. Campbell, Rev. F. K. Smith, Rev. W.M. Harper and Rev. E. F. Simmons had signed a circular that urged voters to "scratch Act 315." The circular gave these reasons to vote against the measure: 1. It would violate the fourth commandment; 2. It would require seven days of labor on the part of the employees; 3. It would open the Lord's day to legalize suggestive and indecent entertainment, turning the minds of people from holy things on God's Holy Day.
