HENDRIX TRUSTEES DECIDE TO ADD FOOTBALL
After a 13-month study and debate, Hendrix College's board of trustees has decided to add football to the college's athletic program. Football was discontinued at Hendrix after the 1960 season because of costs. No timetable was set for football to be implemented, but trustees said the sport will only be implemented after start-up costs are raised from external sources. Trustees have also voted to add women's lacrosse with the same stipulation. Further details in Wednesday's editions of the Log Cabin Democrat.



Lagasse-Rugger

Stephen and Tracy Lagasse of Conway have announced the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Haley Marie to Joseph Michael Rugger of Jonesboro.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Tommy Haley of Tyronza and Sally Haley of West Memphis and Richard and Jane Lagasse of Conway.


 

She is a 2004 honor graduate of Wynne High School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arkansas State University in 2008 where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.

She is employed at the Craighead County Public Library in Jonesboro in the children services department.

The prospective groom is the son of Stephen P. Rugger of Hot Springs and Markey Ford of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Lorraine Grimes of Sikeston, Mo. and Clarence Rugger of Washington D. C.

Hei s a 1999 graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School, a 2003 graduate of Lyon College and graduated in 2005 with a master's of professional accountancy from Indiana University. While in school he was a member of the varsity baseball team, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and in the Honors Academy.

He is the director off finance and administration for JP&O Prosthetic and Orthotic Laborator in Jonesboro.

A 1:30 p.m. wedding on June 21 will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway.
