Jacqueline Lunel Gill was born May 18, 1931 in La Robiniere, France and died Sunday in Hot Springs.
Jacqueline traveled the world, enjoying experiences too numerous to list. She met and married Columbus Gill and traveled many continents experiencing people of all races, creeds and religions with curiosity and enthusiasm. She had many beloved pets, especially Tarzan and Princess. Jacky loved flowers and became a master gardener, she worked at Sun Bay, Excelsior Hotel, Splash Casino and volunteered for Job Corps and ACS Garland County Relay For Life.
Jacky's beloved Columbus preceded her death in 1987.
She leaves a son, Ernest Dempsey and wife Francois, grandchildren Xavier, Maggy and husband Remy and son Nathan, Marc and July residing in St. Emilion, France; also a stepson, Larry Gill and wife Mary Ann, children, Aaron, Adrienne and Amani residing in Windsor, Conn; brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gill, residing in Conway.
She will be missed by friends, Joanne and M. Alan Blos, Josette Unstead, Jackie Pettigrew, Jeanfo, John Booker, Otis Ussary and many more friends.
Special thanks to St. Joseph's Cancer Center: Dr. Lattauda and his nurses and staff, Dr. Pruitt and Dr. Kelley, Kay, Sharon, Cindy; nurses, Diana, Patsy, Pat, Angela, Techs Marla, Christy, Mark and especially Regina Foster and all the wonderful nurses, caregivers and volunteers. Thanks to Dr. Divers, Lynn and all the nurses and staff at Genesis. Thanks to Fountain Lake Health and Rehab, especially Norma McGallicher, LPN; Teresa Laliberte, LPN; Linda Keahey, RN, ADON, Kristy Orman, CNA, Dr. Hosan Kamel and all the CNA's and Aids and Housekeeping that cared for Jacky. Thanks to Hospice, Chaplain Susan Miller, Nurse Beth and Gera S. CNA. All these caregivers lovingly made Jacky's life one of peace through kindness, concern and understanding.
There will be a church service, officiated by Pastor Melvin Williams of Conway 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Union Baptist Church, 1257 Lincoln St., Conway.
Interment at Salem Cemetery, 4949 Prince St., Conway.
Hospice Chaplin Susan Miller will conduct a Memorial Serivce at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel, Warner Rd., Hot Springs.
A life celebration lunch will follow at St. Joseph's Cancer Center in the Daffodil Room immediately following the service.
