HENDRIX TRUSTEES DECIDE TO ADD FOOTBALL
After a 13-month study and debate, Hendrix College's board of trustees has decided to add football to the college's athletic program. Football was discontinued at Hendrix after the 1960 season because of costs. No timetable was set for football to be implemented, but trustees said the sport will only be implemented after start-up costs are raised from external sources. Trustees have also voted to add women's lacrosse with the same stipulation. Further details in Wednesday's editions of the Log Cabin Democrat.



Woolly Hollow State Park to host Women's Outdoor Weekend May 16-18

Woolly Hollow State Park will be hosting a Women's Outdoor Weekend on May 16 thru May 18.

During this three-day, two- night event participants will attend different sessions on Basic Camping/Backpacking Skills, Nature Journaling, Beginning Bird Watching, Native Plant Hike, Beginning Kayaking, Dutch Oven Cooking and much more, plus lots of free time to hang out, laugh and build new friendships.

No matter what your age or experience your journey will begin here so come and rejuvenate your soul. Open the door to all of your senses by re-connecting with nature and just plain get away. Learn the things you've just dreamed of trying, or expand your knowledge of an already beloved past time.

All gear and meals included in registration fee. Registration fee is $95.

Reservations are required, so those interested must sign up early.

The park is located at 82 Woolly Hollow Road, Take Exit #125 off I-40 at Conway, then go 12 miles north on U.S. Highway 65 to Arkansas Highway 285, just one mile north of Greenbrier; take Hwy 285 east 6 miles to the park entrance
