Central Baptist College recently hosted its 2nd annual Student Appreciation Dinner on April 28 on the CBC campus lawn. The dinner hosted more than 200 students, faculty and staff for an ultimate Cajun style feast.
The event started at 5 p.m. with an awards ceremony where various departments handed out awards to students. This included awards presented by the various education departments as well as the athletic and music departments.
At 6:15 p.m. it was time for dinner on the plaza. The menu consisted of crawfish, shrimp, chicken tenders, boiled potatoes, corn on the cob and Texas toast. The crawfish and shrimp were prepared by Luke Scott and Travis Faulk and was sponsored by Travis Faulk Welding Services. Scott and Faulk traveled to Louisiana to purchase 300 pounds of crawfish and 30 pounds of shrimp for the event. The CBC Dining Services, under the direction of Jill McCollum, helped with the food preparation as well.
Faculty and staff helped cook and serve to show their appreciation to the student body for a great year.
Following the dinner, the CBC Student Men's Organization hosted their annual, Spring Fling. This included inflatables, a dunking booth and a sumo wrestling ring to celebrate the end of the year.
