The Cheerful Givers will again host its Annual Fellowship Banquet on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Greater Pleasant Branch Educational Building, 601 Spruce St., in Conway.

God has blessed this ministry throughout the years. There are two annual benefit programs each year, which include a breakfast that is held in October and a Fellowship Banquet that is held in May. With the help of donations from individuals, churches and businesses this has enabled us to continue to provide services for the people of our community and surrounding areas. ("Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver" - II Corinthians 9:7.)

For the past 16 years, this ministry has assisted many people in a variety of ways - including assistance with utilities, medicine, food, etc. Some of these activities include the following:

Mailing cards (get well, sympathy or words of encouragement);

Presenting two scholarships a year to assist a student in furthering his/her education;

Visiting with residents at Autumn Manor;

Assisting with monetary donations to the United Way of Faulkner County, HAVEN, Bethlehem House, Faulkner County Day School, CAPCA, Women's Shelter of Central Arkansas, Red Cross, Ebenezer United Methodist Church Feed/Teach Program, Faulkner County Senior Citizens, Interfaith Clinic, Pine Street Clinic, Cradle Care of Conway, Soul Food Caf, Excel, and providing school supplies to underprivileged students;

Providing Pre-Thanksgiving dinners to over 400 seniors, the sick and/or shut-in. For those who are unable to attend the fellowship, arrangements are made and meals are picked up by a loved one. Areas served include Conway, Caney, Friendship, Gold Lake, Twin Groves, and Plumerville.

We have been blessed with many wonderful members from many different churches throughout the community. We meet the second Tuesday of every month at Autumn Manor.
