Preston Brock, son of Brian and Tina Brock, qualified with his partner Whitney DeSalvo to compete in team roping.
Emily Lock, daughter of Todd and Laura Lock qualified to compete in pole bending. Lock will be riding Leo's Cutter Doc, which was recently selected by the American Quarter Horse Association and the National High School Rodeo Association-Wrangler Division as the girls AQHA-NHSRA Horse of the Year for Arkansas. "Doc" will advance to the national AQHA/NHSRA-Wrangler Division Horse of the Year competition in conjunction with the finals rodeo in Gallup.
Jace Woods, son of Doug and Jennifer Woods, qualified to compete in Boys Breakaway roping and Boys goat tying.
Featuring more than 1000 contestants from 47 states, Canadian provinces and Australia the Wrangler Junior High Finals is the world's largest junior high rodeo. In addition to competing for more than $75,000 in prizes, WJHFR contestants will also be vying for more than $50,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the Wrangler Junior High Finals Rodeo National Champion. To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top 15 after two go-rounds of intense competition before advancing on to Saturday's final championship performance.
Along with great rodeo competition and the chance to meet new friends from around the world, WJHFR contestants have the opportunity to enjoy nightly contestant dances, family oriented activities sponsored by Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, and the chance to shop the WJHFR western tradeshow, as well as visit the historical attractions of New Mexico and nearby Arizona.
