Police Beat

Among reports recently generated by local law enforcement agencies:

1. Residential burglary at 1620 Middle Road (Oak Grove Commons apartments). A resident reported that someone stole a set of StudioPro speakers from an apartment Monday night. The resident presented an officer with a voice mail recording in which a male subject stated that he had stolen the speakers from the apartment, and wanted the resident to "leave her alone."

2. Shoplifting at 1155 Skyline Drive (Wal-Mart). A Wal-Mart loss prevention officer notified authorities of a man attempting to steal a home theater system Monday afternoon. The officer made contact with Harlon Lamont Finney, 38, 6200 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, as he was loading the home theater system into his vehicle. A discussion as to the location of the receipt ended with the officer concluding that there was not one, and Finney was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

3. Terroristic threatening at 1600 block of Cherry Street. A resident called police at about 5:30 Sunday morning to report a large group of men armed with knives kicking the door of the residence. When an officer arrived, no such group was seen. The resident explained that an upstairs neighbor asked to use the bathroom, and came out with one of the residents' bra in his pocket. The bra's owner hit the man several times, a report reads, "proclaiming him a pervert and chasing him from the residence." Soon after, the resident saw the group of males coming down the stairs toward her apartment, where they reportedly gathered and kicked the door. The man who had reportedly asked to use the bathroom was located and told by police to stay away from his downstairs neighbors' residence. The reporting parties were advised of the warrant process. No arrests were made.

4. Fraudulent use of a credit card at 600 block of Chestnut Street. A debit card owner notified police Monday after his card was used to purchase a $999 ticket from Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates based in Abu Dhabi.
