News Release on Palm Beach Atlantic University website.

WEST PALM BEACH - Palm Beach Atlantic University trustees today voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the presidential search committee to appoint Lu Hardin, J.D. as PBA's seventh president. President Hardin begins his term of service July 1, 2009.

Greenbrier Chamber announces HIPG

The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce has announced the after hours debut of the Chamber Alliance Program and Greenbrier Business Directory will be held at 5 p.m. Monday in the Municipal Building

The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce has also announced the availability of Arkansas' very first health insurance purchasing group or HIPG, designated as the Chamber Alliance Program (CAP) to local area businesses. The purpose of the Chamber Alliance Program is to bring affordable health care coverage to small businesses (1-199 employees) who are members of the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce.

Using legislation developed in 2001 by John Hartnedy, deputy director of the Arkansas Insurance Department, the Chamber Alliance Program formed a strategic alliance with one of Arkansas' major health group carriers (QualChoice of Arkansas) to bring this new program to chamber members across the state.

Effectively immediately, chamber members in good standing with the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce will be able to purchase health insurance coverage that brings significant changes in the way that health insurance is delivered to small business. Utilizing a new program that will give employers up to four different plans to choose from, chamber members can create their own custom health care program. A primary focus of the program will be on preventive care, especially for groups where individuals currently have no coverage or where participation levels in current plans are below 70 percent participation. Groups of one will also be able to participate.

The Chamber Alliance Program (CAP) is being offered statewide through 51 participating Chambers of Commerce and the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer this program in our local community to area businesses.

The Chamber will be presenting more information about this program at the Town Hall Meeting Room located in the Municipal Building at 5 p.m. on Monday.

The chamber will also be unveiling the new Greenbrier Business Directory. 501 Advertising will be on hand to present the new business directory to chamber members.

The chamber ordered 5000 copies of this publication and they will be distributed much like the maps. Those interested are invited to pick up copies of the directory to distribute.
