News Release on Palm Beach Atlantic University website.

Greenbrier Fall Festival raises money for school district

The 63rd annual Greenbrier Fall Festival was held Nov. 1, in support of the Greenbrier School District. Students and parents sold Savers Cards and sponsored a drawing for the grand prize of a Honda four-wheeler with a trailer.

Students were also elected to represent their class or grade as this year's Fall Festival Kings and Queens.

These students and their families worked throughout the month of October hosting other fundraisers to help raise a total of $80,000 this year.

As part of the festivities, a silent auction was held and favorite carnival games including an old fashioned cakewalk were enjoyed by all at the high school. Then, on Saturday night, the coronation ceremony to present and crown this year's Fall Festival Royalty was held at Panther Pavilion.

From the 51 king/queen class representatives, nine overall king/queen winners were announced at the ceremony.

High school winners: juniors King Zac Brown-Perry and Queen Veronika Kowolik.

Junior high winners: freshmen King AJ Boyd and Queen Devin Stacks.

Middle school winners: seventh-graders King Malik Wright and Queen Meena Wassner.

Fifth-grade winners: King Andrew Knopp and Queen Taylor Penrod from Westside Elementary.

Fourth-grade winners: King Chris Wilson and Queen Lauren Woods from Eastside Elementary.

Third-grade winners: King Connor Russell and Queen Madi Hamerlinck from Eastside Elementary.

Second-grade winners: King Nick Adams and Queen Anna Kay Fife from Eastside Elementary.

First-grade winners: King Cayden Wallace and Queen Morgan Trent from Wooster Elementary.

Kindergarten winners: King Peyton Phillips and Queen Anna Blue from Eastside Elementary.

The drawing for grand prizes was also held during the ceremony.

Betty Wiedower of Greenbrier was the first-prize winner of a 2008 Honda four-wheeler with a trailer.

Trina Reynolds of Greenbrier was the second-prize winner of a Polaroid 40 inch LCD HDTV.

Curtis Rider of Bryant was the third-prize winner of an Acer Aspire Laptop computer.

This year's committee would like to thank all the area businesses who made donations to support our fundraising efforts.

They would also like to thank all the students, parents, teachers and staff that worked to make this year a success.
