2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavoring
Let butter soften so it can be worked by hand. Beat egg in mixer and set aside until the flour, baking powder, and salt are sifted. Add sugar and butter, egg and flavoring and mix well in a large bowl by hand until the flour is used. Place on lightly floured board. Roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut in various shapes and add sugar or Christmas decorations to the tops. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 325 for 6 to 8 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.

Icing
1 cup Confectioners sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons sour cream-measurement will vary according to desired thickness
Gel food coloring according to desired color

⢠Start out with 1 3/4 cup flour and add remaining as needed
⢠Cookies bake better on a Silpat (non stick silicon baking liner)
⢠Janna bakes cookies for 3 minutes then rotates pan for another 3 minutes
