Conway police are investigating several vehicle break-ins that occurred in west Conway over the Memorial Day weekend.

At least 12 reports were filed with police regarding break-ins that occurred Sunday and Monday.

Three break-ins were reported on Raleigh Drive, and two break-ins were reported on both Renfrow Street and Hardwood Drive. Break-ins were also reported on Turner Trail, Thompson Street, Hawkins Drive, Utah Trail and French Drive.

According to the reports, six vehicle owners reported stolen property. The property stolen ranged from $46 to $1720.

The stolen items included GPS devices, Gucci sunglasses, a set of TaylorMade golf clubs, an iPhone, a pistol holster and cash, among other items.

Five of the vehicle owners reported nothing missing, and officers were unable to make contact with one owner, according to the reports.

Conway police spokesperson La Tresha Woodruff said officers cannot say for certain that the break-ins are related, although the crimes occurred over a short amount of time in close proximity to each other.

Several of the reports indicate officers noticed vehicles with open doors while on patrol. Many vehicle owners told police their doors were unlocked, or could not remember if the doors were locked, according to the reports.

"We cannot stress enough, lock your doors," Woodruff said.

Woodruff said police have not noticed an increase in burglaries in the area over recent weeks, but said spurts of several burglaries are common.

Police are not sure at this point if the break-ins were performed on foot or in a vehicle, Woodruff said.

Woodruff said police are still investigating the crimes, and no suspects have been arrested.
