Polls will open at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday for the special election concerning the rededication of a quarter-cent sales tax for Conway.
Early voting concluded Monday at 4:30 p.m., and the polls will remain open until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Those precincts voting at the McGee Sports Center are 1C-N, 1C-S, 1E-E, 1E-W, 3A, 3C-E, 3C-W, 3D, 4A, 4B, 4D and UCA. Those precincts voting at the Don Owens Sport Center are 2A, 2B, 2C, 3B, C4 and Hendrix.
Four measures are available for vote during the election, which asks voters whether to extend the sales tax and how to distribute the money generated if passed.
If all measures are approved, the quarter-cent would be split into two eighth-cent areas, one of which would go toward supplying the general fund with $1.5 million. The other eighth-cent would pay debt for bonds issued for three capital expenditures: existing police station construction bonds, improvement to the fire department including new trucks and radios, and improvements to the sanitation department including new trucks.
If either of the first two measures fail, the sales tax, which has been on the books since 1988, would expire.
