Herbert Ball of Conway, a graduate of the Arkansas State Teachers College, today began work at Searcy, where several weeks ago he was named athletic director in the high school.

Ball served as assistant to Coach Warren B. Woodson at the Teachers College the past year. He was an all-state football player with the Bears in 1935 and 1936.

Miss Jean Ann Fielder of Guy was named an Arkansas Dairy Princess Maid at the close of the 1963 Arkansas Dairy Festival Saturday night in Little Rock.

Miss Fielder, a green-eyed blonde, is the daughter of I.H. Fielder of Guy and the late Mrs. Fielder. She was named the Faulkner County Dairy Princess in May.

Leslie Halter of Conway was selected recently as a recipient of the Mead-Johnson Nutritional Division Corporate Donor Scholarship by the American Dietetic Association Scholarships Committee.

Miss Halter, a daughter of Richard and Kay Halter of Conway, is a senior at the University of Central Arkansas majoring in home economics with an emphasis in nutrition. She was named to the Dean’s List and the President’s List this spring at UCA.

Tanner Stewart, 6, held a newborn chick Thursday afternoon at the University of Central Arkansas’ Child Study Center during the center’s Super Kids program.

Tanner and a flock of other children were a part of the Young Ornithologists section of the program, where they learned about different kinds of birds, included the life cycle of a chicken egg.
