Students from Conway Public School will represent the district in the Arch Ford School Cooperative Chess Tournament next month.
The annual Conway Public Schools’ Chess Tournament was held recently to determine the delegates for the tournament.
Fifty-two students from fifth grade and under represented all nine elementary schools and all four of the middle schools. In the sixth grade tournament, all four middle schools were represented. The winner of the fifth and under tournament was a student from Woodrow Cummins Elementary and the sixth Grade winner was a student from Ruth Doyle Middle School.
Simon Middle School won second, third and fourth place in the older tournament.
"Conway should have a formidable team at the Arch Ford tourney," Lynn Duran, co-organizer of the Conway Chess Tournament, said.
The regional tournament will be held at Arch Ford on April 1.
