A Vilonia High School student recently received the Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Francis Rudd Scholarship.

Faith Burroughs, the Vilonia High School FCCLA Chapter President, was awarded the honor at the Arkansas FCCLA State Leadership Conference Wednesday, March 9 at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) campus.

The scholarship is given based on certain criteria including being an active FCCLA senior member who is majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

Burroughs plans to attend UCA in the fall to become a FACS teacher. Along with her current FCCLA presidency, she has also served as the District 2 FCCLA Vice President of Public Relations this year.

She will compete in the National FCCLA STAR Events in San Diego in July.
