The Central Arkansas Model Railroad Club (CAMRC) will host a Train Open House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the McGee Sports Center community room. The event will be free and open to the public.

The "star attraction" of this event will be the large HO-scale modular layout created by members of the Crooked Rail Model Railroad Club (CRMRC) based in the Little Rock metro area. Its footprint is about the size of a four-stall garage. Most of the modules of this portable layout are highly decorated, each depicting a scene envisioned by its builder.

Train hobbyists of all ages and families with children who love toy trains are invited to drop by to see the trains in action. A separate layout will feature trains from the Thomas The Tank Engine children’s TV show. Children can operate some of the trains and earn a junior engineer certificate for following the rules of the railroad.
