Titus 1:15,16 "To the pure all things are pure; but to them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable (destestable), and disobedient, and to every good work reprobate (worthless)". Titus 2:14 "Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to Himself a peculiar (special, different) people, zealous of good works". I’m glad that i’m a peculiar person and thats ok with me. I love the life that I have with my Lord and I would not change it. I want to serve Him, love Him and work for Him for ever.
There are five crowns mentioned in the Bible and one of those crowns is the Crown of Glory for faithful servants, and I want to be His faithful servant, so I can earn that crown to lay at His feet.
Pastor Bob again preached two great message’s this past Sunday. I look forward to each new message on Sunday, infact we had several to say to us if something comes up such as bad weather during our service time can we change it to another day. I love to know that our people want to hear the Word and love being in church. How many of us can say we want to be in church?
We are praying for those who need a touch from the Lord, such as James and Janie Lindsey, Dorothy Lyons family, and for the lost and those who need financial help our country and its leaders. " We can’t lead someone else to the light while we are standing in the dark."

What is a Christian? Have you often wondered and pondered what makes us a Christian? Is it being born in a Christian nation? No. Is it being born in a Christian home? No. Is it because of joining a church and being baptized? No. Being a Christian is much more than this. It is to have the Lord in your life, to believe in the Lord, to receive the Lord and to have him in your heart. If you are truly a Christian, your life will be changed and your heart will be changed and you will want to do what is right and Christ-like.
Brother Lynn asked an important question in Sunday night’s service. "What will it take for you to quit serving God? People use excuses everyday so that they do not have to serve our Lord and Savior. Can you do wrong if you are a Christian and get by with it? The answer is no because God will correct you. He is our father and like any good father, He will make sure that you know that you have done wrong and will punish you for your wrongdoing. One point that was clearly brought out is that the devil is after everyone of us that is serving God. He is real in this world and it is his job to stop us from serving our Lord. We need to be do-now-ers and not quitters and sometimers. Put Christ first in your life and see what a difference it makes.
Monday night the Ladies of Calvary met for a special Valentine’s Day celebration. We exchanged Valentine’s, just like we did when were kids. With pretty boxes and cards of all varieties. We will use these Valentine’s as a way to say a special prayer each day for the person whose card we pull from the box. What fun! We also heard a very powerful testimony from Suzanne Webb, my sister and my best friend. She reminded us to look beyond the wrapper and look to what is inside the package. You can’t always determine what is inside, just by looking at the outside. We can all have that part of our lives that we are ashamed of, but we need to remember God loves us for who we are. He created us.
Just a reminder, Sunday morning service begins at 11 am and Sunday night is at 6 p.m. Wednesday night is potluck night at 6 p.m. with Bible Study to follow at 7 p.m. Awanas meets at 6:45 p.m. It is a glorious time to visit with friends and then to learn more about the word, I couldn’t dream of a better place to be.
