Report to the Tucker Creek Walking Trail at Salem Road around 8 p.m. tonight to be part of the annual toad procurement for Toad Suck Daze.

In an effort to gather a "knot," or a collection of toads, festival chair Mary Margaret Satterfield has asked festival fans to meet for the hunt.

Some years have proved a challenge, and toads don’t like the cold.

Every year, volunteers pull through by supplying the festival from their own stores of toads.

Suggested supplies for toad hunting include rubber boots, gloves for the faint-at-heart, and a flashlight or head lamp.

Boxes for toad storage, or Toad Condos, are provided by the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.

Other toad gatherers may drop toads off at the Chamber’s office during business hours until Toad Suck Daze.

Organizers say more than 200 toads are needed.
