•DWI 1st offense, Irby Drive and Poteete Street. Officers responded to an accident at the intersection of Irby Drive and Poteete Street around 11:40 p.m., Monday. The driver told officers he was westbound on Irby Drive when he struck the roundabout island. The police report states the driver said he was on his phone and the next thing he remembered was being upside down in his car. The police report states a background check found the driver had warrants in Cleburne County, at which time he was taken into custody. Officers reported that the driver had an odor of alcohol and "bloodshot, glassy" eyes. Officers conducted field sobriety and blood alcohol content tests on the driver.
According to the report, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and issued a citation for driving on a suspended license.
•Aggravated Assault, Clifton Street. Officers responded to a 911 call of a person being chased with a gun around 10:58 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Clifton Street. Officers made contact with the female victim after she evaded the suspects.
The victim told officers she was attempting to drop off a friend at her apartment when a black male wearing a white shirt, jeans and a "mask a doctor would wear" began yelling at her, and signaled for her to stop the vehicle.
The police report states the victim began to back up when she noticed the male had a gun.
The victim told police she left the area and drove a different way to drop her friend off at her apartment on Clifton Street, at which point she noticed a male pulling out of the apartment complex in a white Chevy Caprice. The police report states the victim was backing up when another black male with a gun approached her vehicle.
The victim told officers she left the area, and was chased by the males in the Chevy. The victim was able to evade the vehicle, according to the police report.
•Residential burglary, Dave Ward Drive. Officers responded to a burglary call at the Grove Apartments at 2730 Dave Ward Drive around 8:43 p.m. Monday. The resident of Apt. 632 told officers that when she arrived home around 8:33 p.m., she noticed several items in her apartment had been moved, and that she was missing a pair of Beat headphones and a Toshiba laptop.
The victim’s roommate reported to officers that she arrived at the residence at 11:30 a.m. Monday, and sat her purse on the table. The roommate said she stepped outside to meet a friend for lunch, and locked the door. The roommate returned around 12:30 p.m. to get her purse before returning to work. The roommate told police she later noticed that she was missing $300 from her purse, and that items in her room had been moved.
The police report states the roommate called police around 9:15 p.m. to tell officers that a mutual friend was seen wearing a pair of Beat headphones. The roommate had no other information on the individual, the police report states.
Officers found no signs of forced entry, and were unable to find any finger prints.
