Twenty-eight fourth-grade students in Emily Abram’s class at Ida Burns Elementary logged 119,780 minutes of reading, ranking the class among the top 100 classrooms in the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! program.

The class was the only class in Arkansas to achieve Top 100 status. Students will be awarded for their efforts with a Top 100 prize and a Pizza Hut gift card.

"We are incredibly proud of the students at Ida Burns Elementary for their exceptional commitment to reading with the BOOK IT! program," said Shelley Moorehead, program administrator. "These students are going above and beyond. We’re fortunate to have such tremendous support from schools who are committed to make reading great."

BOOK IT! is a six-month program for students in Kindergarten through sixth-grade.

The program wrapped up its 28th year.

It’s purpose is to motivate children to read and to help them develop a lifelong love of reading.
