Weather alerts are in effect for Polk and Perry County, according to Log Cabin media partners KATV.
A tornado warning is in effect for Perry County until 4:45 p.m.
State and local emergency officials say a violent storm destroyed a house west of Oden in rural western Arkansas, injuring at least one person.
The National Weather Service attributed the injury to a tornado.
State emergency spokesman Tommy Jackson said first responders were attempting to reach what was left of the home but were being delayed by fallen trees. Montgomery County Sheriff spokeswoman Brandy Wingfield says Thursday's storm also caused property damage and ripped down power lines.
The bad weather led organizers to delay the start of the outdoor Wakarusa Music Festival north of Ozark. About 15,000 who had shown up for the festival took shelter in their vehicles while a different storm passed.
May and June are the heart of the tornado season, when twisters are common.
