Faulkner County Sheriff's deputies and emergency responders were on the scene of a dog attack before 3 p.m. Wednesday at 12 Langley Lane north of Greenbrier.

The victim, an 76-year-old man whose name has not been released, has possibly suffered a severed limb, according to FCSO spokesperson Adam Bledsoe.

"The [major] injury was above the ankle and below the knee," Bledsoe told the Log Cabin Democrat before 5 p.m. "The victim has been taken by air ambulance to the hospital." 

Bledsoe also said the victim lost a finger in the attack.

"We do not know his condition at this time," he said.

Bledsoe said more information would be forthcoming. No information was immediately available as to the owner of the animal.
