Eight Hendrix College students who have been studying in Brussels since the beginning of the year are safe after the country experienced a terrorist attack.

Ethny Ashcraft, 19, of Pine Bluff, has been absorbing the Belgium culture since January with plans to come home in May. On Tuesday, her morning started at the Metro Station before going to a conference.

Ashcraft said she was "oblivious" to the attacks until she got to the conference where she found several of her partners looking "somber". As she started combing social media, she found out the place she's called home since January is now victim to the latest terrorist attack.

Not long before the second explosion, Ashcraft said she was at the Metro Station.
