One of the most highly anticipated attractions opening in Conway this summer is the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park. Urban Air is an indoor park with wall-to-wall trampolines.
In addition to trampolines, Urban Air will also have rock climbing walls, ropes courses, dodgeball courts, foam pits, a slam dunk zone, a tumble track, and obstacle courses as well as activities for kids seven and under.
Urban Air has the space for groups of up to 400 to celebrate birthdays and other special events. It can also accommodate corporate events and team building sessions.
Even though there are 65 locations elsewhere in the United States, this will be the first location in Arkansas. It will be located in the north end the former American Furniture Factory Outlet space next to Office Depot in the Conway Towne Centre.
According to Collier, the leasing agent for Conway Towne Centre, Bargain Hunt will be locating between Urban Air and Office Depot. Bargain Hunt, headquartered in LaVergne, TN, has 70 locations that offer name-brand merchandise at 30 to 50 percent below normal retail pricing. This will also be one of the first locations in Arkansas.
The former Ruby Tuesdays restaurant, located at 2400 Sanders Road, has been sold to River Valley Lodging, LLC for nearly $1.4 million according to Arkansas Business. No word yet about what the new owners plan to do with it.
Travelers on Oak Street have noticed the beginning of site preparation for the new Outback Steakhouse next to Chipotle Mexican Grill while visitors at Lewis Crossing are noticing the preparation being made for Hideaway Pizza just south of On the Border. Site preparation has also already begun for Burge’s just west of Acxiom.
According to their website, the Economy Inn at 820 E. Oak is permanently closed. That would explain why Freddie’s Frozen Custard is in the development stage at that address. An internet search revealed a Freddie’s Frozen Custard and Steakburger restaurant opening soon on E. McCain Blvd. in North Little Rock. There are already three in Northwest Arkansas. Founded in 2002, this red and white restaurant serves cooked-to-order burgers and hotdogs along with sundaes, concretes and cones.
Rock City Eats is reporting that Ceci’s Chicken and Waffles is relocating from North Little Rock to Conway at the end of May. It is moving into the former Bleu Flame Burger location on Dave Ward Drive. Ciceley McDowell, the owner planned a grand opening on June 5.
Just as Tour of India opened this past week in the former Los Amigos location on Prince Street, Prince Garden Chinese Restaurant and Tea House, the restaurant next door, announced that it would be closed indefinitely.
Burritas Crazy Good Burritos, the Tex-Mex restaurant that has been operating out of a food truck on the Old Morrilton Highway, has now opened a restaurant in The Ridge Plaza up the street. It is located at the end of the strip that houses Firehouse Subs. They are planning a Grand Opening soon.
Acadia Healthcare, the 65,000 square-foot, 80-bed behavioral health hospital, is attracting a lot of attention from passersby on Sturgis Road. Slated to open in late 2017, it is located just south of The Meadows Technology Park.
Another healthcare facility is also taking shape on the corner of Oak and Harkrider. PrimeCare Medical Clinic, currently located in the strip mall behind Save-On Drugs, bought the old bank building some time ago. Hart-Cone is in charge of the renovation.
The Faulkner County Museum is also celebrating a grand opening tomorrow. After being closed for restoration for eight months, the museum will open at 9 a.m. First Security Bank’s Teal Grill will burgers and hotdogs for lunch from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Visitors can register for door prizes.
The museum will soon be rolling out plans for some new renovations which will include redesigning the floor plan and exhibit spaces. Visitors can purchase commemorative bricks and ornaments to help with the fundraising efforts for this renovation.
