Lauren Michelle Yocum and Austin David White were united in marriage at 6 p.m. May 30 at First United Methodist Church in El Dorado with Bro. Kent Dixon officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Paula and Scott Yocum of El Dorado. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Paul Smith of El Dorado and the late Judge and Mrs. Henry S. Yocum, Jr. of El Dorado.
The groom is the son of Nancy and Don White of Conway. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.O. Wilcox of Artesia, N.M. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Alvin M. White of Durant, Okla.
Nuptial music was provided by organist Linda Barrett, pianist Sharon Ard and vocalists Mary Pat Cook, Mary Marley aunt of the groom and B.J. Moody. Vocal selections were "How Beautiful" and "When God Made You."
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Lucy gown of ivory silk taffeta featured a sweetheart neckline, rouched bodice and modified A-line draped skirt with a uniquely styled cathedral length train. The back of the gown was embellished with a handmade Swarovski crystal broach. Her fingertip length veil was embellished with Swarovski crystals fashioned into flowers lining the edge of the veil.
She wore a custom designed necklace of multiple strands of fresh water pearls and Swarovski crystals of varying sizes and shapes and drop earrings of Swarovski crystals and pearls.
She carried a bouquet of red roses and calla lilies embellished with jewel centers and a lace covered Bible, which was previously carried, by her grandmother and mother in their weddings.
Melissa Yocum, the bride’s sister, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Blake, cousin of the bride, Courtney Smart, Hayley Pryor, Jordan Julian and Sonya Pawloski.
The maid of honor wore a designer gown crafted from pomegranate duchess satin. The strapless bodice flowed into a draped fitted skirt ending in a fluted hem design. She wore a necklace of Swarovski crystals with a handmade drop of red and silver glass wrapped with sterling silver wire and matching drop earrings. The bridesmaids wore gowns and jewelry of matching design. They carried nosegays of mixed spring flowers.
Anthony White, the groom’s brother, served as best man. Groomsmen were Adam McMahan, Slade Patterson, Scotty Campbell, Brandon Temple and Kurt Sims.
Ushers were Clint Blake, cousin of the bride, Spencer Gordy, Clint Shadwick, Jarrod Watkins and the groom’s brothers, Alan and Daniel White.
Other attendants included flower girls Avery White and Isabelle White, nieces of the groom. The house party included Leslie Duffield, Alex Hale, Maggie Hobbs, Morgan McCloy, Anna Murphy, and Kelli Prewett.
A reception was held at the El Dorado Golf and Country Club. The bride had a modern and elegant four-layered cake with lemon filling.
Each layer was defined by smooth red ribbon at the base and accented with frosting beads and designs. The cake was topped with a mirrored monogram.
The groom had a triple layered chocolate cake decorated with dipped strawberries and chocolate spirals.
After a week-long honeymoon at the El Dorado Royale Spa and Resort in the Riviera Maya, the couple will reside in Conway.
The bride graduated in May from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed by the Arkansas Otolaryngology Surgical Center in Little Rock.
The groom will receive his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management in December from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is employed by Graham Smith Construction, where he is project manager.
