Conway Christian Elementary School began the 2009-2010 school year with a new principal at the helm. Donald Holt joined the administrative team, bringing with him 26 years of experience in education. Conway Christian has it largest group of elementary students this year, hitting the 358 mark.

Holt comes to the school after spending 13 years at Shirley and Rosebud where he served as teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, assistant principal and bus driver. However, Holt noted that even though kids are the same everywhere, the approach at CCS is different.

"Being able to approach every situation from a Christian perspective first has been an incredible experience for me. I have an excellent faculty/staff and continue to enjoy learning the ropes of Christian education," Holt said. He also added that he fell in love with the atmosphere the moment he stepped on campus.

The past two summers prepared Holt for his new role. Traveling with his church, Rosebud Assembly of God, he visited and worked at Christian schools in Mexico. Although they were vastly different, Holt believes the philosophies to be the same as CCS.

Chief Administrator Gloria Massey added that Holt has been an invaluable asset to the school. "His educational experience combined with his heart for serving has already been a great addition to the elementary. We have enjoyed a smooth transition under his leadership.

Holt is married with four children and three grandchildren who all live in the Rosebud area.
