Herman J. Uekman, 82, of Conway, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009. 

He was born in North Little Rock to the late Theodore “Tate” and Clara Deller Uekman. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Jacob House. 

He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and retired after 30 years of service as a transformer winder. He loved to garden for his beloved wife. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and was loved by all, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma McElyea Uekman; two sons, Herman T. Uekman and wife Judith and Robert “Robby” Uekman and wife Paula; three daughters, Donna Marie Epperson and husband Blaine, Vickie Wood and husband Phillip and Susan Crow; one sister, Jo Ann Mushinski and husband Jerry; four brothers, Edward Uekman and wife Ida, Eugene Uekman and wife Patsy, Charles Uekman, and Robert Uekman and wife Kay. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 6150 Remount Road, North Little Rock, AR 72118-2208, with Father Tom Stehlik officiating. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, (501)-791-7400, with a vigil following at 4 p.m.
