With economic stress pushing more families than ever to the breaking point, Court Appointed Special Advocates of the 20th Judicial District announces five new advocates joining them in providing support for the abused and neglected children in our community.

New advocates are Nancy Harris, a claims consultant in Greenbrier, Deborah Morales, a home health aide in Birdtown, Sharon Gifford and Whitney Walker, Conway students and Kitty Murdock an executive broker in Clinton.

They will all take on a case involving an abused and neglected child in the coming weeks. Their role will be to provide a consistent presence in the child’s life and to speak to their best interests in the court.

CASA 20th continues to strive to recruit enough advocates so that no child in Faulkner, Van Buren or Searcy county has to navigate the world of child protective services without an advocate by their side.

The next training session for new advocates begins Jan. 19. With continued support from the community and more citizens stepping up to volunteer, together we can make a difference in the lives of all our children.
