Floyd Llewellyn Dunn (Sonny), 68, of Enola died Jan. 22, 2010 at his home. 

He was born Sept. 1, 1941 in Baltimore, Md., to Floyd Harris Dunn and Bessie Elaine Llewellyn Dunn. 

Mr. Dunn graduated in 1959 from Enola High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree with a double major in history and biology and a masters degree in history from the State Teachers College now known as the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He retired from Oak Grove High School in Pulaski County Special School District where he was a history teacher for 271⁄2 years.

Sonny had a lifelong love of learning and was a voracious reader. Teaching young high school students about history was his lifelong passion. He loved politics, current events, history, the outdoors and nature and loved to go on adventures all over the West and the United States camping and visiting historical sites. Sonny loved gospel and bluegrass music and singing gospel music and playing the dulcimer.       

Floyd is survived by daughters, Donna Elaine Dunn Mason and husband Brad of Bentonville, Debbie Dunn Tarvin and husband Scott of Little Rock; son, David Eric Dunn and wife Haley of Maumelle; and the mother of his children Jane Dunn Hairston of Enola; grandchildren, Jesse Hensley, Logan Mason, Roman Mason, Collin Tarvin, Haydon Tarvin, Chalin Dunn, Lydia Dunn, Ava Dunn and Vivian Dunn; brother John Dunn and wife Barbara of Benton and niece Jennifer Dunn Rodgers and husband Justin of Conway; and his closest friends Don and Marie Stanley of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; and close cousin, Jeanne Crissup and husband C.A. of Helena, Okla., and numerous other relatives and friends.  

Family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a Memorial Service to follow at 7 p.m. at Bishop-Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Greenbrier with Brother Gene Gambill officiating.
