Robert (Bob) Travis Niehaus, Sr., 71, of Greenbrier went home to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.
He was born on Friday, May 13, 1938 in Little Rock to the late Robert O’Dell and Estelle (Reeves) Niehaus.
He loved fishing and hunting and was an avid Razorback and St. Louis Cardinals fan. But most of all, he loved God and his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Arkansas National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Joann; five daughters, Debbie Holdcraft and husband Ronnie, Vinita Kaye Watts and husband Tom, Tracey Jackson and husband Carroll, Lynnette Sorensen and husband David, and Jeanette Edens; a son, Robert Travis Niehaus, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Ronnie, David, Todd, Wendy, Tiffany, Michelle, Jacob, Clint and Jarrod; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Jane Henderson of Slidell, La., and Ann Abshire, and Ginger Anderson of Little Rock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Duane Niehaus; granddaughter, Brandy Jackson; and two brothers, Thomas D. Niehaus and Charles R. Niehaus.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Springhill Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Pastor Ed Stephenson officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Austin, Ark., with Robert Bare, Bill Zellner, David Mahan, Don Carter, Robert Arnold and Dan Snowden serving as pallbearers.
The Crusaders Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Greenbrier.
