The Central Baptist College Lady Mustangs ran their softball record to 18-0 Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Blackburn College, winning the first game 19-0 and the second game 12-0. CBC remains a perfect 18-0 to start the season.

In he first game, CBC’s offense continued its torrid pace as with 19 runs on 21 hits. Kristin Shock, Shannon Pickard, Cassie Martin and Christen Kirchner all hit home runs for the Lady Mustangs. Martin and Pickard were a perfect 3-for-3 in the game and Pickard also drove in six runs. Kirchner hit her second grand slam of the season and 10th home run of the year. Jessica Bock improved to 9-0 on the mound.

CBC scored 12 runs on 17 hits in the second game. Sam Baker and Carly McLennan hit home runs for CBC to push the team’s season total to 43 home runs on the year. Casey Hammons and Meagan Youngblood combined for a no-hit shutout. Hammons improved to 9-0 on the year, and Youngblood has not allowed a run in relief.

The Lady Mustangs will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend for a double header against Texas Wesleyan on Friday and Northwood University on Saturday.
